GD has fantastic customer service 24x7 365 days/year. That's pretty important when your server runs into problems and you need to call tech support. Everytime I called they're pretty knowledgeable and helped out. I wouldn't hesitate getting another server from them again.

Lately I've had this strange error with their dedicated server. Basically after I scp files to my other servers (not hosted at Godaddy), my ssh session gets disconnected, and then I can't ping the particular IP of the server I was logged into. The weird thing is that I was able to ping the other IP addresses of the server and even ssh into it. The network "disconnection" for the IP would last for about 10 to 15 minutes, and then everything goes back to normal. WTF?? Anyone else having the same problem? Rebooting the server did nothing to fix this, so I'm thinking it's some sort of firewall/router issue going on with Godaddy.

i haven't had a problem with godaddy except with their vps when they shut off my site saying it was causing high load. i like their 24 hour customer service i think it's a big plus vs. some of these cheapy web hosting services that only takes email requests and u never talk to a live person. i wish there were more godaddy renewal coupons though sometimes they have it.

I like GoDaddy overall. Most of the time you can find coupons that will let you get $6.95 domain names. Cool thing is that they also include free email to go with your domain. Their hosting is also pretty competitively-priced, especially if you sign up for a one-year plan and apply a 10% or 15% off coupon. Also their tech support is 24x7, unlike some of the cheap hosting companies out there. If you do their VPS hosting beware of "too many open files" problems that could lock up your virtual server. My recommendation is to setup a cron job to automatically reboot your VPS nightly.
